Hi USA,
I've been thinking about immigration and don't understand why we believe that prohibition works. It didn't work in the 20s with booze and doesn't work today with immigration.
Legislation and regulation worked. And could work with immigration today. What do you think of providing a license and registration procedure for our Good Neighbors, Mexico and Canada?
The Good Neighbor license would work like a driver's license. Applicants would use the existing infrastructure of our local DMVs to register and pay for a license which would be up for renewal every few years. With approved documentation, Mexicans and Canadians could work in the USA as long as their Good Neighbor license was valid.
So let's get ourselves out of our immigration headaches.
What do you think?
